Release date and tracklist for WHT

Originally I had this idea that I wanted to do two albums. One with the mellow stuff and one with the clubby, techno material. I soon realized that I am not nearly where I want to be with the latter of the two. I do not have material that I feel is good enough for an entire album with techno/house, so for now, only WHT is released.

I am really proud of WHT and I feel that I have been way more focused on doing it right, than doing it fast this time. My first album “I Know That You Know” was released in a bit of a hurry, and while I was in the midst of a heavy transition period. I think that is audible on that album. I feel confident about WHT and I feel that I have done what I really wanted to do.

WHT is released in Denmark May 4th on my own label, in conjunction with Sony Music. It will be out on CD, and a Vinyl with a digital download included. The artwork is made by me in collaboration with Mads Katholm, who also plays bass on the album. The picture above is how the front cover is going to look.

  5. Hej Troels

    Fedt, fedt, fedt men hvorfor kan man ikke på linket her hente “When You’re Ready, Let Go” gratis når du i en af dine ældre “topics” lagde et link til sangen hvor den kan hentes free? ellers mega fedt med de små previews så man kan få en ide om hvad der ligger i vente :)

  10. decibyte: Den tager vi lige på dansk. Jeg har en aftale med Sony om distribution og promovering af min plade. To ting jeg ikke selv kan tage mig af pga. manglende evner og resourcer. Ikke alle aftaler med major labels er pladekontrakter i traditionel forstand og ikke alle kunstnere der laver aftaler med store selskaber får suget livet og kunsten ud af sig. Jeg sørger altid for at mine aftaler er skruet sådan sammen at jeg har fuld kontrol med alt hvad der sker. Jeg ejer f.eks. stadig selv min master og alle rettigheder til albummet, mekaniske som intelektuelle. Hvad bygger du dit spørgsmåls forudindtagelser på?

  14. Håber også du udgiver BLCK. Har set frem til noget Troels tekno/hus-musik. Synes din podcastudgivelse “Not Moving” rykker – i nærmest halsbrækkende ryk :). Bestemt et nummer der bliver spillet når jeg diskjocker. Glæder mig dog stadig til WHT!

    Det lyder som om du har en fornuftig aftale med Sony. Det glæder mig. Og det glæder mig endnu mere at du alligevel lader til at forholde dig kritisk til de store selskaber. Og dermed har jeg intet at bygge mine forudindtagelser på. Heldigvis.

    Med fare for at bevæge sig alt for langt væk fra emnet: Hvordan har det du det med hvis dine ting ender på fildelingsnetværk? Jeg tænker både på ting som du selv forærer væk (Swept Away…), over ting som var gratis men nu kun fås mod betaling (Mockin’ Bird) og så til de ting der fra start kun officielt udgives mod betaling?

    Just a quick note to say that I am loving your album at the moment. It’s on very high rotation.

    As an Irish guy in Australia, I had to buy it through an american website – so I guess an Aussie tour is out of the question?
