Hurry up and get the new gloomy and bouncy Steps EP from one of Denmarks finest DJ’s and producers, James Braun. It’s a free release on DXD-R, the record label founded by James Braun and Zzune, who together comprise the DJ-team DØD (That’s DEATH to my international readers).
Did I mention that it’s free? GO!

I have uploaded a track called Swaat to my myspace site, and my bandcamp site as a free download. It’s also available for streaming from the player below. It’s a near final version of the song, needs a little more tweaking on the sound-side but you get the point. Hope you like it.

While I’m busy at work trying to get the BLCK album finished, I thought I would release the acapella of End Scene to see what you can do with it. Though it’s not that fashionable anymore I’m still a firm believer in freedom of sampling and mixing under the artists regulations that eg. Creative Commons offers, as a supplement to the current copyright laws. So without further ado…
END SCENE A CAPELLA – 126 BPM
You can do whatever you like with it as long as you credit me or link back to this site. The only rule is that you can’t make money off of it, without my explicit permission. Respect that and you’re good to go. And oh…I’d love to hear what you’ve done with it, so please leave a link to your work in the comments.
Released under Creative Commons. Read this for the license.

There’s nothing like new equipment to spark your creativity. Today I received my Machinedrum from swedish manufacturer Elektron. The above track was what came out of it. It’s still a little rough around the edges. Needs some more turning and tweaking, but definitely a candidate for a spot on BLCK.

Yesterday I released my new album for purchase on Bandcamp. I did this because iTunes hadn’t added my album on the release date, and I felt that it had to be available on the date I had set – also as digital download.
So, now that iTunes have added my album, I have pulled the download option from Bandcamp. It’s important for me to tell you that this is not based on greed, as I get more money from Bandcamp per download, than I do from iTunes, even when the price is set to a mere 5 dollars. It’s equally important to tell you that I pulled it, because I am not sure if my licensing deal with Sony allows downloads through Bandcamp or the likes. I am currently trying to find out of there is an option for me to sell the album on Bandcamp, as I would love to have both possibilities open. It’s important for me to be visible and that my album is available on as many platforms as possible. If I want WHT to reach as far as it can, I have to be on iTunes, as it has a significant market share and thus can’t be ignored (they need a little competition, don’t they?). It’s equally as important for me to have my album on Bandcamp, where people – like you – can pay your respect, and know that the money you spend is going where they should, to a higher degree than on iTunes. I can see by the activity on my profile and the comments you have made, that you like the option too. I respect that.
I am trying to figure out a way to have my album on both platforms, but I need you to bear with me, as it might be a while before it happens. Until then you will have to settle with iTunes.

For reasons beyond my control iTunes have not yet added WHT to their system. Until they do I will sell the album digitally over at for bandcamp a mere 5 dollars. Head on over there and get your download on. troelsabrahamsen.bandcamp.com

Originally I had this idea that I wanted to do two albums. One with the mellow stuff and one with the clubby, techno material. I soon realized that I am not nearly where I want to be with the latter of the two. I do not have material that I feel is good enough for an entire album with techno/house, so for now, only WHT is released.
I am really proud of WHT and I feel that I have been way more focused on doing it right, than doing it fast this time. My first album “I Know That You Know” was released in a bit of a hurry, and while I was in the midst of a heavy transition period. I think that is audible on that album. I feel confident about WHT and I feel that I have done what I really wanted to do.
WHT is released in Denmark May 4th on my own label, in conjunction with Sony Music. It will be out on CD, and a Vinyl with a digital download included. The artwork is made by me in collaboration with Mads Katholm, who also plays bass on the album. The picture above is how the front cover is going to look.
Tracklist is:
The Woods Are Here Worksong End Scene
Switch It Off
When You’re Ready, Let Go
Shine Your Light
Collider
Wrong Gods
You Don’t Get Me At All
I Am Not An Island
We’re Like This
Nothing Comes To Those Who Wait
There are short previews of the entire album and a free download of the final version of End Scene over at my last.fm account.
