The Wong Boys

Picture 1.png

I posted about these guys before, but I really like The Wong Boys and I’ll bet both of my legs and my crappy left ear that you will too when you listen to their new single Git Ur Fuk On on their myspace site. The duo – consiting of danish producer Betofon and the notorious Frank Ziyanak of Death To Frank Ziyanak – makes dark, bouncing, ravy popmusic for the new generation of dance-hungry youngsters. And they do it so well.

The Wong Boys are releasing their debut album in the spring of 2008, and I for one can’t wait to get my hands on it. Whuuuuut!

Go buy Git Ur Fuk On in the iTunes store. It’s iTunes+ which means no DRM for ya’ll!

The Presets releases new album

660101629_l.jpg

Remeber these two australian fellas? Well, they made “I Go Hard I Go Home” (find it on iTunes) and after that they didn’t have to do much to impress me. I am absolutely addicted to their first album “Beams” from 2006. It’s a killer album and now they are releasing another one come May 13th. The album is entitled “Apocalypso” (funny story: Mew thought of that joke too on their last album, but what the hey) and one can just hope that it will match it’s preceder. Judge yourself whne you hear the

Turboweekend Remix

4 months ago I asked the guys in TurboWeekend if I could do a remix of “Stand” which is the closing track on their brilliant debut album “Night Shifts”. I am normally not this slow when doing remixes but this one got me bitin’ the dust. I just couldn’t finish it, and I ended up with a boring clean cut mix. So I started all over again and after three days I ended up with this. Enjoy…

Buy This On Beatport – February

This months beatport recommendations are nothing but pure evergreens. One of my all time favourite tracks, “Yellow Asteroids” by Smash TV released on the always lovely BPitch Control label, is a must buy along with Motor’s “Drug Punk”. Extrawelt is featured once again with “Last Past” – a good seven minutes of the same excellent bassline but in different wrappings. Modeselektor – also on BPitch – have remixed “Hold On” from Apparat’s 2007 album Walls and not much of the original is left. Finally you should finish your purchases with Kosheen DJ’s remix of Falling Down of Hybrid just for the distorted vocal line. About three minutes into the song you can go make coffee or just turn your stereo down ’cause that’s when the track starts to suck a little (at five minutes it’s back up again)

Happy spending…

I won! I won!

I don’t know what the fuck is up with this picture, but hooray for the danish music critics! Thanks to them, I am now one ceramic dog and a fancy title richer. Last night I won “Producer Of The Year” at the annual Steppeulven award show in VEGA. On top of that I got to play with Suspekt, in a sweet collaboration between VETO and the rappers from hell. It was sweeeeeet!

I didn’t say proper thank you yesterday, ’cause I was stoked about winning, so here goes: Thank you to all the fantastic people I have worked with during 2007. I loved it and hope to do lots more in the future.
