New Apparat album and single

Apparat 300Dpi
You might remember Apparat from his collaboration with Ellen Allien whom I admire very much. They made a record last year called Ochestra Of Bubbles, which you should buy if you do not already have it. In a few weeks Apparat is releasing his, as far as I can count, third full length album on Shitkatapult. The album will be titled “Walls” and supposedly it should feature more acoustic instruments than electronics this time. Preorder the album here

This is a full but shorter version of a track called Arcadia which is on the forthcoming album, and I must admit it sounds very promising indeed!

Apparat – Arcadia

These are links to older songs and one liveset from Apparats hand.

Apparat – Komponent
Orchestra Of Bubbles – Do Not Break
Apparat – Live set from Burn&Consume, Barcelona

The Artificial Limbs

L 90C4609E867F895336681359D7204Ff5
I’ve been meaning to do a post on these two fine ladies from Århus. Consisting of Anna Valgreen and Seva Grigorakis (say what?) The Artificial Limbs make for kind of a missing link in danish music. Not afraid of distortion and overdrive and not afraid of being ugly and scary (in their sound that is), in a world where girls are supposed to sound like pretty girls and not like monsters. Well I like the monster thing, and I urge you to go to their myspace site and pay your respect or whatever. While you’re there remeber to download their songs and put them on your iPod, Zen, Zune or whatever you have…

WHAT THE FUCK!

Beaglefamily
The following is a letter in danish to the owners of destroyer.wordpress.dk.
“Hej

Mit navn er Troels Abrahamsen og jeg ejer komponistrettighederne til “I Know That You Know”.

MVH
TROELS ABRAHAMSEN”

The owners of the site specialize in uploading FULL ALBUMS from both danish and international acts. I think it’s beneficial for both the musiclovers and the musicians that there are one or two free downloads when you release a record, but this is way out of line! It think it’s unethical, and besides that it’s stark raving illegal.

I don’t know if they are aware that what they’re doing is wrong in every way imaginable, but I hope they get the hint. It seems though that they think they are doing this for a noble cause.

UPDATE: “Der bruges dæknavne og falske, men eksistrende, email-adresser af sikkerhedsmæssige årsager.” Translation: “We use aliases and fake, but existing email addresses fro security reasons” – Step up and put a name to your site if you believe what you’re doing is right. This is so reverse Robin Hood, it’s not even funny…

Let me hear your opinion on this matter? Is this okay? Is this the logic outcome of the wild west ways of the blogosphere (hate that word) or is this stepping over the line in promoting music you like…?

Allo Allo! New remixes from yours truly. This time the lovely Turboweekend has undergone some serious sonic surgery (see what I did there…) and have come out alive and well on the other side. Visit myspace.com/turboweekend to hear the original tracks.

Live!

Just returned from another successful rehearsal session with the two guys I will be performing alongside. Mads and Michel, respectively on bass and drums, have really added a great dimension to the album. I am so excited about the concerts now, and I’m not even nervous anymore. It’s going to be two wicked nights, and I hope that you’re all going to run out and buy your tickets as fast as you can! In return I promise you a night to remember…
