I’ve uploaded the remix I did for The Floor Is Made Of Lava, and I must admit I’m pretty damn proud of it ;-) They seemed happy about it too…

Can you possibly think of a better name to band than that?
These guys describe themselves on their website as:
“THE THIRD BEST BAND ON WELLER STREET IN SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI, THE QUEEN CITY.”
Seriously, I laughed my lounges out reading that…
But all things aside these guys have made some great tunes, and right now I’m waiting for their album “Broom” to arrive. I’m excited about it since they write that, “This is our first full length CD. We recorded it in 2004 and 2005 in our attic and living room…but it sounds like a studio because of technology!“
To me the music sounds like Hymie’s Basement meets Bright Eyes, but I’m not too happy with all this comparising so go listen to this tune called ““Lower The Gas Prices, Hwd. Johnson” and judge for youself, or you can visit one of the following pages for more free mp3’s:

Look close, the mp3’s are there, and maybe you should support them by ordering a CD or a shirt while your there. Actually they have tape subscription on their site! Not many bands have tape subscriptions…
I just realized that I have never mentioned Shy Child on this blog, and I couldn’t let a near-crime like that pass. It’s this weird mixture of hiphop, rock and a lot of other things I can’t quite put a name to. Maybe you’ve already heard of them, but If you haven’t be sure to check them out. Especially this track. it’s called The Noise Won’t Stop and is by far the best track on One With The Sun. Maybe their best track ever…

If you’re interested in buying the CD you can do so from this site or you can download it on
Have fun with these guys…
It’s a very seldom thing that I find a band from Denmark, that just blows me away like The Floor Is Made Of Lava has done with their “Told her I’m from Compton”. Found these guys through myspace (or rather they found me), and for now they have only one track on their myspace site, but they have promised to upload another one soon.
Visit these guys at their myspace site to hear the track. I don’t know why I like it so, but maybe it’s because they are in to Eagles of Death Metal as much as I am ;-)
“5. Hereby You grant EMI/PladeSelskabet Have a Cigar the exclusive right to use Your uploaded remix for promotion and commercial use.”
This term is one of many that I find very unfair and calculating, in the terms of the competition to make the best remix of a TV2 song. The label gets the track for free and then they can just use it as they like?! If I were offered this deal, I would ask them to stick it.
The problem is that people who hope to make it in the music bussiness don’t think about their rights, and that’s why the big bad record labels can do just as they like. Just check off “I have read and understood the above terms” and you’re good to go. In my world the click of a button shouldn’t be legally binding!
I am not going to link to the contest, since I find it very manipulative and wrong. I love mymusic.dk, but I feel that they (probably with the best of intentions) are letting down the users of their site. Why must the major labels always suck the life out of everything good…?
Well, it’s no secret that I’m keen on street art, and lately there has been done some great pieces around town. The street art community is not “big” big in Ã…rhus, but for a small city there is a lot of things going on, on the walls. Very exciting stuff!

It’s a guy who has figured out a very clever way to make his pieces light up the night.
